Hi, I'm Lisa Jorgensen-Bock, M.S., CCC-SLP

Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist

Lisa received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995 and her Master of Science degree in Communicative Disorders in 1998 at California State University, Northridge. Lisa brings 25 years of experience to Social Compass Club. She started her clinical training in the early intervention program and the preschool autism clinic at C.S.U.N. under the incredible leadership of Joni Schaap. After graduating, she dedicated her career toward working with awesome students, their strong families and flexible teachers/therapists in K-8 public schools. During that time, she acquired valuable skills working with children who have speech, language, and social learning challenges associated with autism and related conditions.

Over several years, Lisa has developed a strong desire to help families with social learning challenges find ways to navigate the social world in real-time (e.g., through therapy and everyday places, such as stores and outdoor events). She believes that social learning opportunities should be addressed with the client's input and agreement in the final social plan.

Lisa has extensive training in treating social learning challenges from attending several Social Thinking seminars and the Social Thinking Clinical Training Level 1 course. She is also certified with ASHA and three programs with Hanen.

In 2004, Lisa's journey of clinician and parent of a minimally verbal child intersected and allowed her to learn from specialists of many disciplines. As of September 2023, her adult son continues to make progress. He is a  fluent English speaker and he is currently attending college.

When Lisa is not helping people with special conditions, she enjoys praying to God, listening and supporting family members and friends, finding healthy allergy-free recipes, working on puzzles, walking in gardens, and watching game shows or meaningful movies with her family.

Social Compass Club's professional team includes Lisa Jorgensen-Bock, Executive Director, Kaylee Falcon, Art Director, and Andrea Graber-Bartley, Sensory Processing Interventionist. Together they bring forth their expertise from different areas to support their clients' needs within community environments.
