Hi, I'm Lisa Jorgensen-Bock, M.S., CCC-SLP
Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist
Lisa received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995 and her Master of Science degree in Communicative Disorders in 1998 at California State University, Northridge. Lisa brings over 20 years of experience to Social Compass Club, A Speech-Language Pathology Corporation. She started her clinical training in the Early Intervention Program and the Preschool Autism Clinic at C.S.U.N. under the incredible leadership of Joni Schaap. After graduating, she dedicated her career to working with awesome TK-8 students, their strong families, and their flexible teachers and therapists. During that time, she acquired valuable skills working with children who have speech, language, and social learning challenges associated with autism and related conditions.
Over several years, Lisa has developed a strong desire to help families with social learning challenges find ways to navigate the social world in real-time (e.g., through therapy and everyday places, such as stores and outdoor events). She believes the final social plan must include the client's input. This includes choosing which community social learning opportunities to pursue.
Lisa has extensive training in treating social learning challenges from completing several Social Thinking seminars and the Social Thinking Clinical Training Level 1 course. She holds certifications from ASHA, three programs from Hanen, and she is also trained as a Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) clinician.
In 2004, Lisa's journey of clinician and parent of a minimally speaking child intersected and allowed her to learn from specialists of many disciplines. As of August 2024, her adult son continues to make good progress. He is a fluent English speaker and he is currently attending college.
When Lisa is not helping people with special conditions, she enjoys praying to God, supporting family members and friends, finding healthy allergy-free recipes, working on puzzles, walking in gardens, and watching game shows and sports with her family.
Social Compass Club's professional team includes Lisa Jorgensen-Bock, Executive Director; Kaylee Falcon, Art Director; and Andrea Graber-Bartley, Sensory Processing Interventionist. Together they bring forth their expertise from different areas to support their clients' needs within community environments.
